Things for the house!
With all the moving and changing and decorating going on in the house preparing for the baby, it is making me think of other ways to better the house... only in my dreams.
I was perusing the anthropologie website looking for 'things' seen as 40's is coming up soon and as I'm sitting in the lounge looking at our tired, dingy rug, thinking how much I would love to replace it for a patterned one, mostly because this one has seen it's day but also, a patterned one would disguise a lot more mess and, I foresee a lot more mess, and stains in our future!!

Fanning foliage rug $498 for a 5 x 7 which is what I think we would need... |
Gloria's garden rug $498 for the 5 x 7 |
So in our bedroom, our bed is at an angle, and we don't have space for a bedside table either side, so lighting is an issue.. I came across these cool lights that would be ideal for the space, and fix the awkward spacing.
far and wide sconce $348 |
moving light sconce $198 |
As I sit here looking at more ways to spend money we don't necessarily have to spend on things for the house, I am aware that there is a repair man in the basement -as I type- fixing our furnace.. another repair for an old house... more $$ spent! I would like a new house now.. again, a girl can dream!

Stroller confusion!
There are so many strollers to choose from.. Everyone has an opinion and everyone thinks different to me! Apparantly it's been suggested we need 3 strollers, I don't get why just yet, I understand maybe the main pram, and a lightweight foldable one, but the third, if it's for jogging, I walk, and the regular stroller will do just fine and dandy!
So we went to Buy Buy Baby, and there were a ton of different ones to look at there, we really only looked at the Bugaboo Chameleon (my main fancy) and the Peg Perego something-or-other that was suggested to us as the 'favourite' by the fresh faced boy working in the stroller department! I just don't know... I want something substantial, and i'd be lying if I said I did not care about what it looked like, but I do. So here are some options;

- Sola Truffle by Mamas and Papas - $399. The main thing that stood out from the others was the max weight, it holds up to 50 lbs instead of the regular 32 lbs. Additional accessories available.
- Vista Stroller by Uppa Baby - $679. This one actually looks like an all-round winner. It seems lightweight, has one handed fold-away with or without seat, spacious under basket, foam/rubber wheels, washable easily and multi-function covers rain or mozzie.
- Vibe by Phil & Teds - Not sure how this is better than the others, but I have used this and it handles well, packs easy, and I guess may be good in the future for another child with the adaptable seat addition.
- Bugaboo Cameleon by Bugaboo - $880. I just love this one! The max weight is the only down side, which holds up to 37.5 lbs, but I don't know where we'll be at that point, I know my nieces haven't used a stroller for ages, just because they don't want to.. I don't know if it would be an issue.
So just by looking through these strollers and comparing websites and magazines for the last couple hours, I think I am liking, the Bugaboo Cameleon still and also the Vista Stroller!

Cat Stevens
Watching a silly film with MFJ last night, this came on at the end.. I sang along (only because I had heard the Boyzone version) and MFJ had never heard it before.. I love the words. The original is better!!

Let the decorating begin!
We started working on the baby's room.. we'd picked a colour to work from, a lovely turquoise colour, and went from there:
Finally started our registry at Buy Buy Baby! So much to see and get! We were in the store for near 3 hours, and brain dead when we left. Our registry has 5 car seats on it, and multiples of other items too, we had to list them to check out the reviews then we can go back in and edit! So overwhelming! But, 'Buy Buy Baby' is a great place to start, everyone there is so friendly and helpful! Throughly recommend it as a starting point for any new parent!!
We are thinking a base of the bottom colour, then stripes in the 2 above it. |
We also ordered this nursing chair, but in the fabric swatch below.
Trying to decide between white and dark wood colour for the frame of the chair... |

Baby room finally cleared (pretty much!)
Wardrobe moving to this coner |
Wardrobe doors being changed, thinking chalkboard paint on one and wallpaper or fabric on the other, with fun knobs! Piece in corner needs to be removed. |
Thinking window seat / storage area in this corner between closet and window. |
Crib to possible go where wardrobe is now?!? |
thoughts
Every day now I feel baby jumping and turning. I can sit here quietly, and watch 'it' move around making my belly jump and pulse with every turn. I think of how baby will look and feel. I cannot wait to meet my baby!
Lately, with all the sunshine I have been sitting in, my mind always runs down memory lane.. While sitting next to MFJ sleeping on the beach, I run my hands through the sand thinking of all the summer holidays we had in France. Thinking, hoping and wishing that with everything I am and everything I can be, I will be able to give my child the most exciting, memory filled life possible.
I remember sticky summers running through markets, jumping in the sea, playing in the green rubber dinghy that was my Dad's when he was a child. I remember sifting through sand and finding tiny shells, collecting them with my Mum, they now sit on a shelf in a glass bottle, savouring the memories of our beach filled summers.
I am spoilt by my childhood, and want more than anything that when my baby is old enough, thinking about family and holidays, I hope they can look back on all the memories we have created for them and think how lucky they are, as I do now.
I have put in a request with Mum today for some pictures of our France summer holidays, and baby pictures. I think it will be fun to see whether my baby will look like me or MFJ when we were baby's.
Every day I am overwhelmed with thoughts of things I want to do, I want to share. But mostly, my thoughts are about my new family, and how I can't wait to be 3.

popcorn belly
Lately my belly feels more like there's a popcorn machine in there than anything else! Feeling all the flutterings of baby moving and kicking... MFJ was able to feel the baby move for the first time on saturday, which was so special, it was extra great as well as it was MFJ's awards dinner that night, and it was like baby was 'high-fivin' him!
